What KYC is, why bookmakers require it, and how to verify your account smoothly.
“Know Your Customer” (KYC) is the legal process bookmakers use to confirm your identity, age, address and, in certain cases, the source of your funds. It exists to prevent under-age gambling, fraud and financial crime, and it is a normal part of opening and operating betting accounts.

• On sign-up, before deposits or withdrawals.
• After a change of details (name, address, payment method).
• When cumulative activity reaches internal thresholds.
• If automated checks cannot verify your details.
• Proof of identity: passport or photocard driving licence.
• Proof of address: recent bank statement or utility bill (typically dated within the last 3 months and showing your full name and address).
• Payment method verification: image of the card used (front and back, with sensitive digits covered) or a statement for e-wallets/bank transfers.
• Source of funds/wealth (if requested): payslip, tax return, business accounts, or other evidence of lawful income.
• Use clear scans or photographs with good lighting; include all corners/edges of the document.
• File types commonly accepted: PDF, JPG or PNG; avoid very large file sizes.
• Redact securely where permitted: on payment cards, show only the first 6 and last 4 digits and cover the CVV. Do not obscure your name or expiry date unless the bookmaker permits it.
• For bank statements, include your name, address, date and issuer; other transaction lines may be obscured if allowed by the operator.
• Submit via the bookmaker’s secure upload area in your account where possible; use the email address listed in their help pages only if requested.
• Keep copies of files you send and note the date/time submitted.
• Verification can complete quickly but may take 24-72 hours during busy periods. Support teams will usually email when the review is complete or if further information is required.
• Blurry or cropped images: retake with better light; ensure the whole document is visible.
• Out-of-date proof of address: supply a document dated within the last 3 months.
• Name or address mismatch: update your account profile and re-submit matching documents.
• Card image rejected: ensure only the permitted digits are covered; the name and expiry date must be visible.
• No utility bills in your name: request a bank statement or official letter to your address from your bank/building society.
Provide documents only via the bookmaker’s official channels. Do not send sensitive information through unsecured email or to unverified addresses. Store copies safely and delete temporary images from shared devices once verification is complete.
