How It Works

• •Bookmaker: Rule 4 comes off your winnings, never your stake. Nothing at all is deducted if the withdrawn horse was bigger than 14/1.
• •Exchange, win market: the reduction factor cuts the price itself, and is skipped entirely below 2.5%.
• •Exchange, place market: the reduction factor cuts potential winnings instead — the same shape as the bookmaker, so the two legs stay in step.
• •If your own horse was withdrawn: this calculator does not apply. Your bookmaker stake is returned and the exchange voids that runner.
• •Already laid? Both legs move together, so the swing is usually small. The case worth acting on is having backed but not yet laid.
